Umbrella Children’s Theatre Productions is thrilled to present Coyote the Trickster at Teatro Paraguas, written by David J. Hudson, adapted by Rebecca Morgan and JoJo Sena de Tarnoff, and directed by Miss Tarnoff. Ranging in age from 6 to 10 years old, child actors will be performing alongside adult instructors.
Coyote the Trickster is a collection of stories from the Hopi, Navajo, and Pima Native American tribes of the Southwest. Some teach us about right and wrong, and some teach us about traditions. Come have fun in the animal kingdom as our mischievous friend, Coyote, gets his skin, holds up the mesa, steals the stars…and more!
UCTP was founded in 1988 as Southwest Children’s Theatre Productions by Rebecca Morgan and Celeste Allerton. The two companies combined have equipped thousands of Northern New Mexico children with skills that serve them as performers and human beings today, and prepare them for challenges faced later in life. This is the first Umbrella Children’s Theatre Productions season since the fall of 2019.
Coyote the Trickster opens Friday, April 22nd at 7:00 p.m., and plays on Saturday, April 23rd at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 24th at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $5 for kids. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
Reservations may be made by calling 505-424-1601. Tickets can be paid for at the door by cash, check, or credit card.
This project is made possible in part by New Mexico Arts and the Dept. of Cultural Affairs, Santa Fe Community Foundation, and LANL Foundation.
