Poetry Reading with Margaret Lubalin and Jane Tokunaga

ABOUT THE POETS:

Margaret Lubalin has been writing all her life. First as an advertising writer and Creative Director. Then studying memoir writing at the New School in Manhattan. She’s led creative writing workshops at New York Writers Coalition for both adults and at-risk-youth. She is also a painter, poet, short-story writer, book-artist and general life observer. Her art work has been exhibited in shows at the New Mexico History Museum and the Book Arts Show at the New Mexico State Capital. In early 2017 she founded and co-created The Wall of Love to counter the building of a wall at our border that divides us. Margaret recently turned her focus to her poetry, gathering the poems and musings she’s written over three decades into her first book: small arrows: a poetic memoir. One reviewer commented “her book is immensely readable, witty, lighthearted and serious all at once.”

Jane Tokunaga lives with her husband, Takashi, generations of dogs, a bear or two, coyote, bunnies, ravens, hawks and good friends and neighbors in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Former Santa Fe Poet Laureate, Joan Logghe shared this review of Jane’s book of poetry, Everything I am Now:  “Jane has accumulated a lovely body of work. A record of a life well spent…so attuned to the natural world.”
